2 Weeks to go - Make sure you book to avoid Disappointment

Stompin fans there are only 2 weeks left until we open and you must book tickets to this show. If you don’t book you will never find out where the locations of the parts are. Big wrap in the paper on the weekend. If you didn’t see it page 42 in Saturday’s Examiner.

The last week it was just myself and the dancers in the studio rehearsing while Toc, Sarah, Melody and I busted out more behind the scenes actions through the day. On Friday we got to meet more of our wonderful residents of Part 2. The energy down at the cul-de-sac is starting to fire up.

This week sees some big rehearsals in the venues so if your lucky you might just catch us, maybe we’re putting a show in your street and you never even realised. Keep a look out on the box as well for another exciting Stompin ad coming soon and keep an eye on this website to find out where you can catch Hidden Cameras/ Public Screens.

Riannon Shaving One for the Team

One of our beloved stompin dancers Riannon Golder has bared all and shaved her head for the Leukemia Foundation.

By being part of the World’s Greatest Shave on the 12th March, Riannon and her crew raised $2 300 for the fight against cancer and we at Stompin think that’s just fantastic.

In total the country rasied over 4.1 million bucks which will go into finding a cure for a cancer that kills 1, 363 people a year, that’s 4 people a day!

Congratulations to Riannon and every one who participated in the event!

Here are some pics showing off the new do.

Phase 1 Complete

We have just completed a very successful stage in the development of our project Uncover This. The last four weeks have been filled with adventure, triumph and a whole lot making rocking dance. We had the pleasure of Tyler Hawkins, who was on secondment from the VCA, joining us for a week and helping out with the choreography and all jobs entailed in making a hot new dance work. Here are some photos from his visit

Big thanks goes out to Tyler for all the work he put in. His involvement and contribution has and will make a huge impact on the show.

While Tyler was here we had a working bee to get Liz and James’ house ready for the Test House evening, thanks to those stompers who helped out.

After four great weeks of rehearsing we were ready for our Test House. The day ran smoothly with the help of our Production manager Daniel Zika, and of course Luke, Sarah, Melody and the Stompin dancers. At about 6.30, when we were still completing our dress rehearsal, the guests started to arrive and I suddenly felt like I was going to throw up, much to the amusement of the dancers.

For those of you who were unfortunate enough not to be able to be there. We presented 3 different sections of the work that at the moment we see being in 3 different houses. After each section the audience got to discuss and write down what they had just witnessed and ask me any questions about process, choreography or pretty much what ever they wanted. All the information gathered is being analyzed and will feed into the next process of the this project
We had an amazing evening, the dancers performed beautifully and the feedback we received has proven to be more valuable then we could have imagined. Thank you to all who come and gave so generously. I hope you had a great evening and look forward to seeing you all at the show if not before.

Footage of the Test House can be found on our myspace page. Below is some of the fantastic feedback and pics we got from the night.

“I laughed wondering about the impact on the world inside the garage when he slammed.”

“I loved the shut doors and not knowing what t expect from each room.”

“You guys have truly captivated the craziness behind a typical Australian home.”

A huge thanks goes out to Liz and James for being part of our Test House and sharing your house with us. Thank you so much!!!
We are still looking for venues for our final production in October so if you would like to be part of an amazing performance experience please contact us.

Adam back in Tas with Stompin

Hello hello. Today is the first day of my fellowship with Stompin. This is a very exciting time for me and would like to keep everyone updated on the great things we will be doing here.

On Saturday we had our audition for the project, had a fantastic turn out and a very successful day. We got a hot group of dancers!!!

The project titled Uncover This looks at the effort of keeping up appearances and what we will do to hide things we don’t want people to see.

The fellowship runs for 4 weeks and in this time we will be exploring, dissecting and exposing every facet of covering up. We have a team of 10 dancers working with me intensively as well as meeting twice a week with the entire company. This is a development period for the project and any feedback, advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Keep checking in and seeing where we’re at and shortly we will be launching You Tell Us, stories that shouldn’t be told.

What?? I'm making the next for Stompin??
