October Workshop - Contemporary Dance Workshop with Brianna Kell

In this workshop we will seek to immerse the body in the freedom of improvisation. We will focus on the body as an invitation to dance. Through a series of improvised and set material we will slowly get sweaty, release inhibitions and enjoy the riddle of movement. 

Saturday 28th October
The Annexe Theatre, UTAS School of Creative Arts, 1-4 Invermay Road, Inveresk.

Brianna Kell is an independent dance artist based in Sydney. Brianna graduated from the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dance in 2010. 

Upon graduating Brianna was awarded the Orloff Family Trust award for ‘Most Outstanding talent’. From 2011-2015 Brianna worked with Tasdance touring nationally and performing in works by Anton, Francis Rings, Larissa McGowan, Anna Smith, Marnie Palomares, Byron Perry, Tanja Liedtke, Raewyn Hill, Gavin Webber, Huang Yi, Madalena Victorino, Stephanie Lake, and Graeme Murphy. 

Brianna is one of the leading facilitators for DirtyFeet’s RightFoot Program 2012-2017. Brianna has choreographed for the Tasdance Education program, Ev&Bow, Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, The Sydney Fringe Festival, Crack Theatre Festival, INMotion Festival, Exhibitionist, and Young Henrys. 

Brianna was a recipient of a choreographic lab courtesy of DirtyFeet and was then recipient of the Out of the Studio program creating ‘Observation’.
Brianna recently worked with The Farm Company in collaboration with C03 Dance touring FrankEnstein. Brianna was a recipient of a research lab at Critical Path exploring Feminist ideology.


Stompin in Schools 

We run workshops that range in suitability for Primary School through to College students. These workshops are individually designed with close consultation with the teacher and school and will address their dance and artistic needs in a very personal way.
