Stompin Youth Choreographic Project 2019

(Applications close June 14)

Stompin Youth Choreographic Project (SYCP) applications are open!
If you are between the ages of 13 and 30 and are interested in making dance or being a part of the making process, SYCP is for you. This year SYCP is being mentored by Bec Jones, Stompin's new Artistic Associate. Whether you want to make a solo or a big group piece now is your chance to make your own dance work! If choreography isn't for you, apply to be a dancer and be a part of the creative process.

This year SYCP will take place in three unique stages:

Stage 1-
An exciting international exchange intensive taking place in Launceston over 3 days (July 14-16). Stompin will be joined in the studio by visiting Youth Dance Companies Dansebryggeriet (Denmark) and Hurja Piruetti (Finland) in a process of exchange, mentorship and development, concluding with a public sharing.
Stage 2-
Ongoing, weekly development and rehearsals with Stompin Acting Artistic Director, Gabriel Comerford and Mentor Bec Jones.
Stage 3-
Further rehearsals and developments culminating in a professional presentation as part of Junction Arts Festival.
